As human beings, we were born to be emotional creatures. Growing up, we attach and identify more strongly with certain emotions. For example, if we grew up in a home where finances were always an issue, we may grow an attachment to a state of stress around the topic of money. Or sometimes we go the opposite way trying NOT to experience the feelings of our emotions at all.

In Dr. Jane’s book, Everything Is PERFECT, Just not me!, she explains “The Feelings Model”, our tendency to repress, feel, or feed the feelings within us.
